Assuming you have a PC with the SE sync software - how about just copying everything from the 16 Mb MSD to a folder on your PC, putting the 128 Mb MSD into the P800 and copying it back ? |

Do as @mope said, or just do a backup of your D drive with the P800 Software suit then do a restore to the new card

I tried to do the very same thing today when I took delivery of my 128MB Duo. Did a backup of the 16MB, stuck in the 128MB and pressed Restore and it just told me it was an invalid restore format (or similar words).
I tried using File Manager (PC version) to transfer the contents of the D:\ drive to my PC but could not find any way to do it (even drag/drop and copy/paste would not work. Ended up shunting directories over to the phone memory, then swapping cards and dumping it back again.
Still, it worked and now I have loads of room! |

I think the best way to do this is through Window Explorer, where it will allow you to copy and paste in the folder that should be marked 'My P800'. Seems the only way if you haven't got enough room on your C:/ drive to shunt it all back and forth.

Hmm.. try using a file manager for the P800 and transfer all stuff on your 16MB MSDuo to the c:\Mediafiles directory on your P800's ROM drive, then insert the 128 MB MSDuo, format it and transfer everything from the c:\Mediafiles to the MSDuo. Worked 4 me. |

Where are you guys getting your 128Mb Memory Stick Duos? I'm in Australia and it was hard enough getting a P800. (Stores are only really getting lots of stock now, but they all get snapped up pretty quickly) I've seen them at P800er.com for pre-order, but thats about it so far.
There is also a good Online PDA store in Australia but they only have 64mb MSD atm (and it would prob be cheaper for me to buy those from P800er anyway).
Cheers.

*THIS IS WHAT I FOUND FROM MY SEARCH* thats why its kind-of old, anyway:
Will it be possible to drag and drop the contents of the 16mb duo to the 128 duo? As i have files on both already (so wouldnt a restore over-write whats on it already???), please someone confirm the procedure; as i hate having to switch between duos on the tube/bus

I used a 6-in-one, and copied all the files from my 16M duo to my harddisk.
Then, I put in the 128M duo. I formatted it using the Format /A: trick (to reduce cluster size) and then copied everything from my harddrive back to my 128MSD.
Everything worked perfectly! |
