1. Nokia - 38 million units shipped.
2. Motorola - 16.7 million units shipped.
3. Samsung - 13.2 million units shipped.
4. Siemens - 8 million units shipped.
5. LG Electronics - 5.6 million units shipped.

it was said that that LG bumped Sony Ericsson off the 5th spot. this was on our local papers (Philippines Daily Inquirer).. and study was done by a study market research firm called IDC.

figures, according to the article, were based on vendor shipments of branded products, but exclude sales of OEM.

What phone does LG electronics make? Don't know anyone with that type of phone. SE hasn't really been that popular to begin with and most of us buy SE as a personal preference and popularity has little to do with it. The figures make me recall an old joke about McDonald's hamburger. Over 1 billion sold, over 500 million eaten, over 50 million digested.:-)

No, the next phone that's gonna eat up SE is the Orange SPV and Smart Amazing Phone.

Like I said in another thread... has only one major problem... they CANNOT meet their demand. Their phones are NEVER available. Just to get my P800 I had to get on a friggin' waiting list. The T300 and T310 (which are just re-cased T68s) aren't available yet...and are priced outrageously for old technology. Who knows when the T610 will be available...and when their new phones are out... what is the disclaimer?!?!? "Not available in all markets"

WHAT THE #$@%$#%?!?!?!?!?!

Accessories?!?!? Don't get me started. Chatpen? Bluetooth carkit (I saw ONE unit in Semicon Filinvest)? Advanced car kit (no system cable available...what the HELL is the use of the car kit then?!?!?)? They can't even flood the market with the HPR-20! Or lower the price of the HBH-30 and HBH-60 (Gimme a break $200 for the HBH-60?!?!)

They have NO ONE ELSE TO BLAME but themselves. The market WANTS ... they're the ones being so dumb about it.

seems like SE lacks ALL the necessary skills to be in the top 5. And Motorola? They have shitty phones and come in s2nd place. U know why? The C 3XX series and the T19X series, low-end around 150$ rule the international markets.Way to go Motorola! Ur phones suck big time but management tops every1 else's : -D
