Is it my imagination or are t-mobile prices WAY lower than att and cingular ? I'm talking about a national plan.... I have the t-mobile 600 minutes wherever/whenever with free nights and weekends. Anything comparable at attws or cingular (make sure you check national cause thats what "wherever/whenever" is) is like $30 bucks more, which is pretty crazy !! the GPRS prices are still WAY to high, but they will come down soon hopefully.
I just finished a year with t-mobile and I'm free to switch, so if anything I've said is wrong please let me know asap , so I can change plans/carriers ! |

You are correct - T-Mobile is significantly less expensive.

i was in a strore and i found the national plan with unlimited WEEKEND and 600 anythime for 39 usd... they didnt even have unlimited night...u have to add up some 3 usd value for night...
can u please direct me to the place u guys are talking about cause i do wanna switch from att...

Free nights promotion ended in february. T-Mobile still a good deal. Other considerations to pay attention to are coverage and signal strength of network in the areas you frequent, as well as any current promotions for any particular network. Choose network best for you and consider more than price. Cheap is no good if it doesnt work where you need it.

not sure that the free nights promotion ended, I just called them up and they said it was still available on the plan I have, 600mins/weekends Unlimited. althought this might just be for existing customers, I suggest you call their support line and ask them I don't see anything about the 3 extra dollars for nights. In any case compared to attws National plans there is no comparison in price, atts' is like $20-$30 more expensive !! |

T-mobile is fine. l live in NYC and service is everywhere but GPRS is still pricey

t-mobile and at&t are going to allow each other to roam on their networks possibly starting June 1. This will be great. |

That is not true. AT&T national at 39.99 will give you 550 anytime minutes and unlimited n&w,compared to Tmobile 39.99 with 600 anytime and unlimited weekends. How is AT&T so much more expensive? |

Free nights are coming back today? I'm about to sign up with TMobile, and want to do so before the end of next week, as I can can get a free t68i from Amazon when i sign up. However, Id really like free night minutes! Tmobile's website doesnt mention anything about free night today (yet). where did you get this info? any more details? |

The comparable plan on att to t-mobiles "whenever, wherever" is the mLife Digital One Rate plan (NOT the mLife National plan, which only allows you long distance for free from your "home" area but not when you travel around, then you do have to pay for roaming) the price on their site for 650 mins WITHOUT nights and weekends is $79.99 !!!!!!!!
The plan you are comparing to is not cheap either, the mLife National plan is as follows:
40¢/min Addt'l Airtime
00¢/min On Network Domestic Long Distance
20¢/min Off Network Domestic Long Distance
69¢/min National Roaming Rate
$36.00 Activation Fee
With a 12 month or a 24 month signed contract you receive:
200 Additional Anytime Minutes each month
Unlimited Night and Weekend Minutes per month
and that's 49.99, but as you see you pay $0.69 roaming !!!!!! compared to $0.00 ! on t-mobile !!!
@greenmonk - it is on their website, just saw it, go to the plans and look at the $39.99 plan it says "Weeknight minutes" - "unlimited"

yah, they updated their site since this morning with the new rates. I'm off to amazon to get my free t68i.
BTW, not only have they added free nights to the 39.99 600 anytime plan, they have also added a 1000 anytime minutes plan for the same price. A suprisingly knowledgable rep said this was available only in CA and NV, but has now been rolled out nationwide. Note you get NO unlimited times, nights nor weekends, with this plan; essentially, do you want free nights and weekends, or an extra 400 anytime minutes?
personally, I think the anytime minutes will be more useful to me, as I think i rarely speak more than 400 minutes after 9 and on weekends anyway, and if you arent using more than 400 minutes in that period, might as well have the max anytime minutes. Plus it makes figuring out what you have left in your plan for the month MUCH MUCH easier, since it all comes from one pool. And there is no contract penalties whatsoever to switch between plans Ive been told, so if I DO end up using 400+ night/weekend minutes, I can just switch! cool. |

indeed, it WAS only offered in california [national rate plan]. the one they have right now isnt identical to the one they offered before that comes with unlimited weekends.
also...
T-mobile gave away flyers on last month's bill saying COSTUMERS NEED NOT to extend contracts when changing rate plans or UPGRADING contracts.

Actually you are the one who is mistaken. The mlife national plans do allow to move around on AWS network. T mobile offers almost the same thing. The One Rate plans for AT&T allow you to roam on any carrier inwhich AWS has roaming agreements with and you will not be charged for the roaming. The advantage is that AT&T has a larger footprint than T mobile if you are discussing TDMA coverage or Multi band coverage. GSM coverage is where AWS still lags behind Tmobile for coverage.
