Hi everybody,

I have a few question related to T39. First of all, if i turn off the display sleep, would that produce any noticeable battery life hit?

GPRS is supposed to be *always* on, but my phone connects only when go to the URL. Its nothing critical but i was just wondering.

I have a chatboard received as bonus with a T20 purchase; it works fine with that phone, but on the T39, it would only introduce capital letters no matter what I try.

The phone needs a few good moments to find the network when i turn it on. My T20 finds it a bit faster, while a friend's R320 finds it almost instantly in the same conditions.

Thanks.

Yes there will be a difference, I'm not sure pecentage wise, but there is a noticable difference.

The 'instant on' is a bit of a misnomer, it is instant relative compared to a CSD connection... but the 'instant' realy comes into play when you have an incoming call... you can actually have an incoming call while you browse... after you answer the call the browse session gets put on hold... after you finish talking the phone asks if you want to continue browsing and it does so without 'connecting'.

I had the same problem... I think it is simply a interface issue between the chatboard and the phone. You can actually set it to use lowercase letters (I don't recall the keystroke but search this forum) but it will neber use the automatic upper-lower case handling while typing an SMS. BTW. I love the feature on the phone which is one reason why I got rid of my chat board.

This I'm not sure why you have... it might simply be the actual boot time of the phone. I have noticed that from the t39 on all ericsson phones take a bit longer to boot which of course means that you hear the famous beep-beep-beep for finding the network a bit later as well.
Thanks.
