Hi everyone

I brought a T68i about 3 months ago, after working fine and I was VERY happy with it for this period, but it suddenly would not switch on....

meaning I LOST EVERYTHING thats was on the fone, settings, phonebook, logos, screensavers, ringtones...

so I had to get a replacement....

then after working fine, the replacement i got, it turned out had a fault AGAIN!!!!!

again i lost everything...

The LCD would suddenly switch off....now I went to get a replacement and they give me YET ANOTHER reconditioned FAULTY FONE!!!!!!!

Now I have'nt had a fone for about 4 months...

SE are great fone but they REALLY need to consider RELIABILY!!!!!!! and SOFTWARE FAULTS...

problems like these will lose customers

when I went to collect my fone last time, I was told that the company had 200 T68is being repaired!!!!!!!

This was in Barnet, so its not a very big place, and even then 200 people have found faults returned their T68is...

Not only that but I was told that P800s and other phones came in regulary too.

Infact she said that Sony Ericssons were THE most faultiest fones because soooo many were being taken away for repairment.

The most reliable fones are supposed to be nokias and motorolas, both phone brands that I have owned and now dislike.

I have sent SE letter to which they have'nt replied...

I doubt I will EVER buy a SE fone again because of the hassle that it has cost me.

Not because they are bad fones its because there are too many SE with major faults....

I'm on my second T68i, and some of the guys at work are on their 5th after just 3 months (not all because of reliability issues - T68s don't make good footballs apparently)

Having said that the one I have is fine, no problems at all. I think it comes down to pot luck.

They're still very good phones (when they work) and can't be matched IMHO on specification. I'd buy another if I lost mine...

My 128Mb DUO is coming!

i had some bad experiences with my t65 and my current p800's screen has to be replaced because it felt down from a high place.

BUT

i will be buying sony ericsson phones all my life. they truly differentiate from other brands. nokia is nokia and i don't like it (some people do, i don't); while the rest of the brands are all the same. same standard OR boring OR ugly designs. latest products are COHERENTLY designed (well, with the exception of the t610's 2mb of memory) and the whole philosophy is what i love.

SO

having a faulty phone can always happen, it's a matter of luck, and every brand has this problems, more or less. i forgive and what's more, i support so they can become better and better.

SE really has a problem with reliability. I know that all my friends with a SE phone had to REPLACE it at least once! Not repair it cuz smtng happened to it but replace it when it was dead! I don't think i wanna pay at least 200$ or a phone broking down regulary. I plan to buy a t310 and i really don't know what to do just cuz of this.

A friend who bought the T68i after she saw my T300 just sent her phone in for repairs after only two weeks. The phone came with a slightly faulty slider, which she felt wasn't a big problem, then the No button stopped working.

@701: Offtopic for this thread, this is from another thread. I ended up buying a Nokia 6610 instead of a T310. The T310 is $200 with the camera, and the 6610 is $260. I did detailed side by side comparisons of both phones, and figured out each phone's strengths and weaknesses, and felt what the 6610 lacks are cosmetic, while what the T310 lacks are crippling.

Sorry for the long post.

Well... I've got my t68 for 1,5 year now... and I never had problems with it... I've got many friends with a t68... and none of them had problems with it... I also work at an electronic shop.. and the most faulty phones we receive are no 1: Nokia and no 2: Motorola... (and we don't really sell many of the motorola's)...

Cheers

@701: I live in Thailand. My prices are local (not gray market) blank phones. SE phones seem to be cheap here...

I have said this many times before...
You should NOT have to be "lucky" when you buy a phone, or any other gadget for that matter!
If itīs a good company they have quality control that prevent luck from being a factor!
Now, iīm not saying that other phone manufacturers are any better mind you, i just never cease to wonder how some people here can be so fanatic about an average at best product?!
Brilliant specs really arenīt worth a rats fart if the damn thing doesnīt work half the time, right? I mean.. would you buy a luxury car where the Air condition didnīt work and the windows stuck when rolled down? Donīt think so..
Unfortunately, as long as we, the buyers shell out our cash and come back smiling for more the manufacturers wonīt shape up.
Demand quality or make clear that if you donīt get what you pay for you will take your money elsewhere!
THEN, and only then will the quality increase.

Ive been using my T300 for 7months and no problem yet, its just that sometimes it happens tht sometimes the software provided might be a bit faulty, and that is rare .

ThreeX:
About that car stuff... I feel that buying an phone is something like buying an Alfa Romeo. You know from the start that you will have some problems with the car as time goes, more than other brands sometimes, but you also now that you will get something that the other carbuyers dosen't get; a very, very good handling car that has alot (and I meen alot) of soul and interesting solutions. If it was only good build quality you were after, you might aswell buy a Toyota or something....
Well that's my thoughts atleast...
