i am only getting 2 days out of my battery... is it really this bad or am i missing something? i know this has been brought up before, but i wanted to confirm. i have 'switcher' so i am keeping my apps closed. the only thing i keep on all the time is my bluetooth.

i assume everyone else who has this phone carries a charger in their pocket like i do ???

i dont have bluetooth on, and i keep all apps closed, still i only get about 2 days (48hrs) battery life.. and i use the phone very little.. kinda disappointed by it, since SE specifies 400hrs standby time..

1 day. With bluetooth ON, games, internet, 30-40 sms, 1-2 mms, 60-90 minutes talking time, some pictures with the use of the camera. I think it's ok.

I'm getting about 2.5 days

BT off, IR on sometimes (no BT at work!) and games for about 30-60 mins per day. Not many calls so far - about an hour since last charge

This is the thing that disappoints me the most! The BIGGEST selling point for me was 400hrs standby time. I'm lucky to get 2 days with minimal use. I feel a little betrayed by Sony/Ericsson in this regard.

i get 2 (something) days w/ no bt, some ir, several dozen sm, no mms, lot of gprs/browsing, games, & i normally have the light off. some ppl said that the the light display & bluetooth really drains the battery. i don't have bt but i can vouch for the light display as i have to recharge the p800 at the end of the day with it set at auto (=

As with ALL phones, the MAX battery life stated is with no use at all. You'll probably find the P800 time is with the phone in power-save.

If you've got a new phone, remember that the battery life improves after a while as the battery conditions itself.

To be honest, the BT will be whats killing your battery life. 2 days with BT on constantly actually sounds quite good! The P800 actually lasts longer than a 7650 does, and the P800 does a whole lot more !

2 days aint exactly bad for a phone of this spec, just buy a car charger and you'll be fine

Hey,

You think the P800's battery life is bad, you try looking at the battery life of the first 3g phones. Try visiting www.3gnewsroom.com and looking in the Hutchison 3g forum. You cant count the number of people moaning about battery life on the NEC E606. Three even recognise that the battery life is bad and give you 2 chargers and 2 batteries in the box. On average 3g phones battery life seems to be about half a day if used in the normal way. So thank your lucky stars you have got a P800 !!!!

where do u guys sleep at night? i mean, every night regardless of what the battery is at i charge it, and if i go on a trip i just take the car charger and the traveler charger. i always plug im my p800 whenever im not really using it...but i do that with all my phones. where are u going that has no electricity that you would need your phone on for over 400 hours?...i could see camping, but if ur gunna do that the smarter thing to do would to bring a backup fully charged battery...but whatever i guess

i get probably 2 days max out of my P800 and im not bothered by this in the slightest.. my phone sits in the cradle when i get home form work and charges itself without me ever having to worry about the battery.... only takes a couple of hours to top up..

cant see the problem with plugging your phone into the charger every couple of days or every eve for that matter? [addsig]

I understand some business users need long standby times, but for me, I usually charge my phone at the end of every day anyway so the battery life on the P800 isnt a big problem for me.

Having said that, two days out of the battery if you dont charge it isnt THAT bad guys.

Try using a Samsung, then you'll know what bad battery life is like!

Its a lithium battery, so just charge it until the screen says that it is fully charged. Should only take about 2-4 hours, and then you can rock and roll.
