As far as I know all the ringtones on my P800 are audible - yep they are, I can here em

Why would you want a ringtone from a T68 when you have POLYPHONICS now? Just go get some funky WAV's or MIDI's, and imy and emy format will be a thing of the past for you

Clearly, as his subject implies- Polyphonic isnt audible enough. I strongly agree. Yes it is the latest ring type but me, i dont give a hoo haa about polytones as a ringer if i can barely hear em. If i want to listen to music id go somewhere else- mp3 player or the like- i want my phone ring to be audibly definite.

I use a soundfile called oldfashioned (as in old fashioned telephone ring) and you can certainly hear that very well indeed!

I know about the "oldfashioned" ringtone, problem with it is that everyone else (almost;-), with a P800 is using it as well....

If you carry P800 in your pocket and walk down a busy street you will not hear the phone ringing with polyphonic signals....

Please help, were can we find these "oldfashioned" but audible ringtones?!

Jonnor,

I am with you, Poly ringtones are all weel and good, but not that good for a proffesional office environment.

Any way check this thead, http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=20911&forum=35

and as long as you don't work next to me you will be the only one with it.

Why not use iMelody (IMY) monophonic files? I find they are MUCH louder than polyphonic files, and the P800 honours the volume setting on the tone much better than the T68i did (just edit the iMelody file suing a text editirom and change the Volume from S10 to S15) You can also strip out the vibrator, and backlight special effects, since the P800 doesnt support them.

I find iMelodies are really loud, yet played in a "pleasant" manner compared to the T68i, because it uses the poly generator, as opposed to a buzzer.

There are plenty of "old rashioned" ringtones in imy formt, and if not u can create your own easily, or convert from nokia RTTTL using christenson.org's software.
