As far as I know i don't think you can! I tend to download images via mviva or ericsson which aren't coming from my inclusive minutes however there are settings on here to access other gateways but using any connection I think!? Just search the forum for waptunnel and you'll find the settings I'm just about to try it now

Ericsson gateway dials up using an 0870 number which is free on orange.

Why don't you use the Ericsson settings. I know this has solved the Orange gateway problems for other users before.

I thought 0870 numbers were UK national call rate numbers?, as far as i'm aware, they are NOT free but are deducted from your inclusive minutes.

Only 0800 and 0808 numbers are free (Orange Talk plans only) provided they are for voice calls only, and not data.

Is this not the case?

Think the Ericsson gateway number is an 0845 local rate one.

hi everyone,
I can confirm (& this is 110% accurate!) that 0870 are NOT free & cost £0.50 peak & £0.25 off peak. I have been in touch with orange (who were not interested in using any gateways other than their own) & they have confirmed this. I also asked when their gateway was to be increased & was told off one person that it could be soon (although they weren't sure!) & another told me that they had NO intentions of increasing its size.

yeah I knew that 0870 wasn't free but I don't think its that much! I'll check my bill and the response you get from the telephone operators when you ask them technical questions like that always varies because I don't think they are told the right answers

0870 numbers are part of your inclusive minutes (tariff dependant however I'm not sure if this applies for data calls

I think it's very strange that Orange not have changed their gateway settings by now. It's more than 4 month since they announced that they would increase the 1.5kb limit. Is this lack of customer care?

Maybe they are upgrading the system capacity or somthing similar, Orange are a good provider ( they have won best provider award for several years running now) and all of my family is on Orange and have been for ages.
It'll be sorted soon, don't forget that the T68 hasn't been on Orange for as long as the other networks so the user base is much smaller so the demand for a 3k gateway is a very small % I would say less than 2%
