Hello!

There has been a lot of talk about the 128Mb duo and now it's my turn to get one. But as I'm sure lots of you are aware of, they are heavily backordered. So my questioni is, do any of you guys have a hunch/quess or even know where one would get a 128Mb duo as fast as possible?

If nothing else, can we try to summarise who sells them at all? I've done a search but all links to the sites are scattered around the forum.

Cheers!

What I had done is go to the P800er website and pre-register. They will notify you when they are in stock and hold it for 3 days for you. Once you pay by credit card, they can send it from Singapore by courier in about 3-4 days. Cost is about £94.00 which will probably be cheaper than they will sell for here (if they ever come out in the UK!!).

My one is due any time now.

Sony are really letting European users down on this one ....

The cheapest MS DUO 128Mb I found on:

67$ on preorder.

Prices on pre-order are all very well but I'd only believe it when it's actually available. I received mine by Fed-Ex today from www.p800er.com. I had a preorder. I think mine cost about £75 (price was in dollars and I also ordered an HPR-20) but shipping cost me £16 (that I do remember! )

I reckon that's a pretty decent price and I can't complain about any aspect of the service (no duty/VAT to pay or anything)

I forgot to mention that the £94 does include the £16 courier charge. You can also get it mailed normally from P800er, it's far cheaper but thakes forever ...

Still not a bad deal really, considering that the guy in the Sony Store in Aberdeen thinks the UK retail will be around £120.00

Nowhere basically ...

You will have to send your phone away to get done. I am waiting a while to let the rush of people upgrading go down.

For all the new features are in the upgrade it's not really worth it anyway. If it was a major upgrade I would think about it.

There is still a bit of a grey area as to whether third party companies will upgrade Orange P800's. Typical Orange, they don't know their arse from their elbow.....AND the signal is really bad in Aberdeen city centre !!!

To be honest, I wish I had waited, paid the extra money and stayed with Vodafone.

I pre-ordered my 128Mb Duo a few weeks ago and got the email saying mine was ready a few days ago. I opted for the standard mail option (I heard this is the most likely way to avoid import tax into UK). I got a mail the next day saying it had been shipped.

Anyone know how long this will actually take? It says on the website something like 1-6 weeks! I can't believe it takes that long for something this small to get a few thousand miles?! Anyone got one through regular mail and know how long it takes?

I think standard mail takes about 3 weeks from Singapore. The problem with Mail as opposed to courier is that it may get lost. Hopefully yours is ok ...

I don't think we need to pay import tax or duty as the sender marks the package as a gift. That way it gets ignored by customs on import.

Bit naughty, but we pay enough tax & VAT here without giving even more away !!
