I am using GPRS on vodafone Egypt, and at first I was having a problem when trying to download my emails from my company pop server, saying "Can't find DNS server". Then I read some posts here suggesting to add a new GPRS account just for email with address : internet, user : web and password : web
After I did this the message dissapeared but I am having another error message saying in the caption "Problem copying message" and then the message itself is "Not ready" Any idea about what may cause this ??
By the way I was able to download my emails from the same server using my wap account

Had the same error message with my P800. It turned out that the GPRS was not properly activated on my account

It simply won't work.

Let me explain. The reason why you can't access your company e-mail in terms of sending is quite simple really, (I'm not speaking out of my arse I have actually tried this as well)

You will be able to receive mail because your company smtp server which allows you to download your e-mail has its DNS address published to the world which allows other e-mail servers to send it mail. but your companies Pop3 servers DNS address isn't published to the world. therefore you cannot send e-mail from your phone.

Quickfix: Speak to your network administrator and ask him to register your companies pop3 account with your companies ISP in the their DNS ie. usually it is "pop3.yourcompany.com" or whatever the last part is in eqypt, here in South Afrcia it is co.za and in the uk it is .co.uk.

Alternative fix: Don't use your company account, rather get a normal dial up account or even use hotmail. Least effort required to configure them.

If you need more help. Just Yell

My company's pop address is published worldwide, because for example I can read my company email from home and moreover I was able to read it using the wap account I had before, so it is something related to GPRS settings on p800, because my collegue was able to get his emails using GPRS but using another phone (not p800)
