i believe certain themes pic screensavers etc are compressed onto the phone.ie a theme might show up as 3kb in the phone memory but when uncompressed and in use may actually be 20kb.
try using the classic theme on the phone from exisiting and see what your memory shows up as.
if i use the winter theme on my t68i the memory drops by about 30k yet the theme is only 13kb in size.
just the way the phones work. |

you cant delete pre installed stuff as such it still sits in the memory they just disappear from view.
this could be another reason why your memory looks so low.

Do the following:do a master reset and after 13 seconds, remove the battery!Leave your phone for 1 minute, without the battery and then insert the battery back.Enter your pin and then, wait for one or two minutes about! The phone will freeze, but after two minutes about it'll be ok!Then,go at:\"My themes\" and enter the memory status submenu,by pressing the left key under the YES button. Then enter the categories you want and delete whatever you want to delete!(e.g.:pictures,games,sounds,mms,themes e.t.c.)

Whoh man taht's long, just do like me : a master reset and quickly go to the "images" folder (everything will be blank) and delete whatever you wan't before the images "appears" and there you go ... Found this trick before the "13s trick" and I think that it's better cause you can choose what you wan't to delete or what you wan't to keep in the phone ...

I have done the 13 second trick and the most space I got was 580kb. It was the master reset 13 seconds then take batt. off and wait 1 minute. If you do the other reset then deleting stuff, you have to be fast on buttons.

It is likely that the used space (mms, pics, sounds e.t.c) is being displayed in 'file size' rather than 'Size on disk'.
I.e. All of your pictures come to a grand total of 135Kb. This is because you have 10 pictures each 13.5Kb big (example).
In theory however these 10 pictures take up 180Kb (example) because included in the files are their names, locations, details blah blah blah e.t.c e.t.c.
It is the same with computers.

Don't know what SW do you have, but i'm sorry to say: with R2E006 whenever i deleted a preinstalled pic, i got memory freed up (it was back after master reset, but who cares). Anyway when i delete any preinstalled item with R6a012, i have the item removed, but memory amount doesnt rise, so, if i.e. i have 500kb free, i remove 8kb pic, i still have 500kb free. After suming my mem status, it cames out like i have smaller total memory. .........ok, no more posts after 8 beers................
