The P800 is a constant cause for love and hate ehh?
I love the little thing, but it seems a lot of people are having problems with it. My problem is that when I'm talking, all of a sudden, and quite frequently, the person I'm speaking with can barely hear me. I fade out. If I then open the flip and cloe it again, it's all back to normal for a little while, and then repeat until you go mad.

I was sure it was hardware, so I got my phone switched. Got a new one now, and lo and behold, the problem comes back! What is this! Anyone have any advise on what this is all about?

Dont mean to sound like I'm teaching you to suck eggs, but are you sure its not something as simple as you're putting a finger over the microphone hole ?? The hole is just in the wrong place, and you may find that your finger creeps slowly further over the hole the more you talk.

Then when you go to open and close the flip, you are putting your finger back to where it started.

I used to have a similar problem with an old phone I had. The way I held the phone meant that the earpiece would sit on top of my ear, and it was almost impossible to hear the person. Once I'd moved the phone, everything was fine.

That sounds like a likely story..its not a fault I've heard of, and the fact its now happened to you twice with different phone suggests to me that its not the phone.

Actually I'm having the same problem, and I posted it here a while ago.

I got a reply from some one who told me he had the same problem before he upgraded his SW and solved the problem for him, I didn't try it though.

You can try that and advise what happens with you.

Couldn't it be just caused by bad coverage?

Yeah Me Too

I dont think it is coverage because where i live i get good reception and yet it still happens, I don't think i am covering the mouth piece either.

Has anyone found out why this happens and how to fix it, if so could you let me know

Hi,

Take a look where the TINY microphone hole is, now make sure your not covering it when talking.

I hold the phone in my left hand and its very difficult not to rest the mic
on my palm!

Crap layout I'm afraid...
