The problem is related to the fact that you may need to set up a different APN. An APN provides you with a route out of your service providers network. Most service providers have one WAP APN (which does not allow internet IP connection) and a different APN for people who which to access the open internet.

There is supposed to be an agreed standard that most operators use which is to set an APN of 'Intenet'. Some implement this all in uppercase, others implement it all in lowercase. Others just dont implement it yet (i.e. BT Cellnet).

I have recently set my Ipaq up for internet access with a bluetooth sleeve and had to hunt for info regarding this. Here is a link that I came across which describes how to use IrDa.

good luck

I connected my iPaq to Internet via AnyCom bluetooth to my T39 over GPRS with no bigger problem. The only thing i need to be aware of is that when using GPRS with my ISP i need to add the DNS:s manually.

No problem with speed at all.

check if your iPaQ have the latest patch from the compaq website.
The new patch fixes some bug on TCP/IP connection.

hope this will help.
