Hi, it's been a long time since I was back here!

Was wondering if anyone could help me, I'm quite clueless at the moment as to how this all works but here goes.

I've got a Grey T68 which I bought in HK back in December 2001. I've never upgraded the firmware, but would like to know as I believe it speeds it up, fixes a few bugs (contact list won't change to small font) and adds T68i features.

I live in the UK now, how do I go about upgrading my firmware version? And how do I know which firmware version I have currently have? Will the fact that I bought my phone in HK SIM free have any affect on the process? I assume I will probably have to pay a nominal fee for this service as I didn't buy the phone in the UK, but if it's not too much I don't mind.

Thanks very much, I did a search on this topic, but kept reading through alot of posts which didn't really answer my question.

Latest firmware is R6B002 I believe - mine is R5D007 and is just fine; R2 above is 'T68i'.

To get the upgrade done, just take the phone to any service centre, e.g. Carphone Warehouse. Depending on how busy they are, it should take a couple of hours or so, though you may have to wait up to a few days or more.

Steven.

I believe the SE number to phone to find out where the nearest service centre is, is as follows: 08705237237

I am in the same situation as you with regards to never having updated the firmware of my phone. My phone is now past it's one year warranty. Does this mean if the service centre break my phone trying to flash it I can't do anything about it? Anyone know?
