I'm considering purchasing the SE P800, but for me the critical question is: is the phone supplied ready to go, or does the Windows CD supplied need to be used to install some sort of operating system? I've got an Apple Macintosh so the 2 PC CD's are basically unusable. (The apps don't matter to me). The memorystick Duo & adaptor isn't a problem, as I already use the normal-sized Sticks in my Sony camera, and they also go into my old Powerbook OK. I assume all three devices can share info and images, and act as some sort of backup. My Macs don't have Bluetooth. To sum up:I'm mainly concerned if the phone works like a computer - if it has crashes is a re-installation of essential operating software from the CD required (which is pointless to me as a Mac owner, and for a mobile phone anyway).

The phone is ready to go. Using Bluetooth from OS X you will be able transfer files (including P800 applications) to and from the phone, and use the phone as a GPRS/data modem. You will not currently be able to synchronize contacts and calendar; Apple is thought (hoped) to be working on an iSync update that will add P800 support, but it's not there yet.

Hope that SE&Apple think about us consumers and do something for P800 owners, till then a sony camera is good to transfer to memory stick also a card reader is good enough, but the best solution I think for us is to have virtual pc on our Macīs

i use virtual pc to backup my p800 on my powerbook g4 mac but it is so slow and very unstable!

I don't just want isync to recognise the p800 I want a mac native piece of software that lets me back up my p800 in case I lose it/ gets stolen/ explodes
