Does anybode know of or has a program that will email your current ip address to a specified address?
Also a program that will execute a list of programs at a specified time.
The reason is that i would like to be able to set my computer to connect to the internet, start a web server and then email the ip address so that i can connect to my pc. Because i connect through an isp that assignes a dynamic ip evreytime i connect i need a program to reveal the ip to me.
Any software would be ok, simply because i will be using it for legal purposes only. ( to connect to my own pc to access files ) |

About program to execute list of programs, there is little simple program called "Poweroff". Its used to switch off PC at specified time, but it can also run programs if scheduled. |

if you can get your computer to email something then it's done, because you can retrieve your IP address from the email-headers... |

Use dyndns instead of messing about emailing your is address, it's free, do a search for it in google (i think its www.dyndns.org ) as for running scripts at set times get a copy of cron or a similar program from the free software federation

The suggestion about email headers would work but what i had in mind was a program to send an email to my nowmms address which would send the msg to my phone in a mms message which i could then get my ip from.
Does anybody have the urls for the program mentioned.
Thanks |

Just register at dyndns, it runs automatically when your computer connects to the internet and sends your current ip address to dyndns, you can then access your computer as is your ip was <whatever>.dyndns.org, there's versions for every os available to download free from www.dyndns.org
