How can you tell the differance between an upgraded T68 to the T68i software and a original released T68i. Are there any major differances? I'm interested in bying a used T68i and would like to know what to look out for like software version and how to check, any other pointers would be most helpfull.

A faceplate is interchangeable (you can put arctic blue& mineral gray into a t68m & you can use a lunar gray & zirconian gold on a T68i)....& you can replace the black backplate of the "M" & vice versa...
upgraded T68 has an orange backlight (unless modified) against an original T68i w/c has a blue backlight

there is no difference in the phone (but on the outside ex. the faceplate and the "backlights")
that is what i have been told from
they just had to give out the new software that they promised and they had to put there new company name on the faceplate.
thats probably the reason way they made t68i

well...if one really wans to trick us into believing a T68mi as a T68i, they can easily change the orange LED to blue, only 4 LEDs on the keypad not a difficult task, however a better and more reliable reference is to look at the little button where u push up to release the battery, if that is black in colour, it's a T68 and if it's white, it's a T68i, u will have to open up every single part of the phone in order to change the release button------but then one will still argue that it is still possible to change the release button, but at least it's better than looking at the LEDs coz in my country, LEDs can be changed cheaply everywhere
OK, here's the definite answer to your question----> look at the imei no., for T68m there's a specific combination of numeric code as part of the imei no. , same applies to the T68i, forgot the exact combination but i think some SE experts here can help u on that --- ok, one will still argue that the imei can be changed illegally with the help of some flashing techniques......
......................i'm speechless.........coz if a seller goes through all that nonsense just to convince a buyer that it's a T68i...he's more or less brainless..............hehe..................

I think the label inside the phone will also either display T68M or T68I - I haven't found anyone who can change that without it being obvious so that's a good place to look.

Yo!
There's no difference in display or in software or in anything like that but the appearance and the battery back which is covered with rubber in case of T68m.
