i have an gericom masterpice with win. xp sp1. and i havent got any problems using it with my phones t68i,p800 i realy think it doesent make diference what brand ure laptop actualy is ...

Yeah, you are asking the wrong question. It should be "Which Operating System works best with these phones".
For basic computer use, go for WinXP SP1.
For more advanced go for Win2K SP3.
Then pick a machine with the accessories you want. Nearly all will come with IR but if you want Bluetooth then your choices are limited unless you opt for a dongle.
