When I open a program, for example I open the internet, then I move to jotter, then I play a game of chess, then i go back to the main screen are all these programs still technically open? If so doesn't that make everything else I do run a little bit slower? Is there a way to close the program? When I was testing my p800 out the first day I of course opened alot of programs and i think that made my p800 have a system failure. So I wanted to know if there was a way to close the program. I know there's no "x" like in Windows on the p800 to close it.

As far as I am awere, they dont close automaticaly. If you install handyday, there is an option to close open programs. Programs such as; Internet, games, ect..

or filemanager, or switcher, both on my symbian and both will do the job. filemanger i feel is an essential program for the p800.

they are kept open (which slows down the phone), but once another program needs the memory they are closed.

There is a Freeware program called SMan which allows one to free up RAM which seems to work OK. I forget where exactly I downloaded it but probably just do a Google search or try this address which was in the 'about' section of the program www.renegade.w3xs.com
