Has anyone heard about possibilities coming as to open AND edit word and Excel documents. Or is it something to do with Microsoft authorization and so on. Would be nice not only to see but to edit Excel sheets. Maybe there is a way round some table program that opens on P800 and whose files can be later converted to excel files?
Thanks

I found just that something similar has been invented for Nokia communicator so why not for P800?

How long ago was the original communicator released?

How long ago was the p800 released?

Use your common sense and be patient.

I find the excel on the p800 useless, or only if you have a list of basic functions
If i put some graphs and stuff the Viewer will crash, also i noticed that it didn't support muti sheet calculations

ever try powerpoint viewer? its even worse (or i should say worthless). It doesn't support fonts, if the file has pictures or animations, it either won't advance or crashes.

I guess for now a phone + pda combo is still best for word/ excel/powerpoint users...until software support is available for the P800. I know it will come but my concern is WHEN?
I'm waiting for my order of the P800 from Globe (PH) and now having second thoughts cause apparently, I still need to bring my clie t665c. If that's the case then I might as well stick with my trusty T68i + loaded clie!

This thing really got me worried so I did a search for "handyShopper" a free palmOS app which I use a lot on my clie. Well, nothing no result. If I can't edit excel or word and not be able to use handyShopper, the P800 will be useless for me. Well when it arrives, its going to be an expensive toy in the meantime and be left at home most of the time.

I guess that's still the advantage of the palmOS. You have at your disposal thousands of free and commercial apps available at your convenience in the web! I have tried so many with my clie and retained a few of them that I found useful and FREE.

As compared to SymbianOS, the introduction of a new app is really such a big event because there are so few of them. Whereas in the PalmOS world, it has become ordinary ... uhmm this might be the strenght of the new Tungsten/W. only my 2 cents.
