Ok I have a bunch of questions for you guys and I know you will most probably tell me to search around for it, however I am pressed for time and would greatly appreciate it if you could answer my questions in one post.
First of all id like to say that the P800 is one of the best phones I have ever seen. I treat it better than I treat myself heh. I have had no problems with it but I have a few questions.
First of all can someone tell me how to send melodies (i.e. which menus I have to go to)
Secondly I want to get the new Firmware, however I live in France wheras I bought my phone in the States. Is there any compatibilty issue of getting the new Firmware here. Will my phone still be english or in french? Also where can I find a service center in Paris.
Also I hear that the P800 came out in the color mineral grey, someone else told me that casings would become available for the P800. Where can I get these casings?
As well, there have been some rumours that later on Video Recording would be implemented into the phone. Is this going to happen? If so does anybody have any idea when?
Lastly I have been to www.p800er.com and have seen the cases they offer, however I need a case (if it exists) that can hold one extra battery, and more than 2 memory cards (preferably 4+). Or does anybody know a good site for cases?
Thanks!
Sage
Oh and one more thing id just like to thank this community for all the times it has gotten me out of binds with my phone.

I like the way you "finally" decided to post, but your post was at 11am of the day you joined...
To send Audio files, go to the Audio player, press the Listing type button - bottom left, instead of the musical note, and then when you click on a file you can choose Send As from the Audio Menu. You then have the choice of Email, Bluetooth, Ir, PC Mail or MMS.
Not sure about the SP in France thing - I'm in the UK and I know where my nearest one is.
Casings aren't available yet, it's not confirmed that SE will sell the shells seperately, but it shouldn't be too long before someone makes a 3rd party one.
Video recording is a tricky one - apparently it has been announced by SE, but I haven't seen proof of this. Unfortunately it will probably be one of those things where no one knows anything about it, and then there's a link on the se homepage.
I don't think you'll find a case with that much storage anywhere - but do a search in the p800 forum for cases and you should see a reasonable selection. Also try expansys, brando and p800er.com.
Hope that helps! |

Ok one MORE question lol,
How much space is the OS because I have only used 5155 kb of space (not counting contacts) and it says 9 mb used.........can my contacts account for that much?....
grrrrrr I have more questions
The Chess application should have the ability to be played over SMS however when I want to choose the only option I have is "Locally"
Ok it turns out I missed out some other factors (i.e. messages which gives me a total of 7436 used even though it says 9) So how much is the OS?

I think you're missing the point here.
Don't you think something as important as MMS should have been on the original t68m?
What about sms delivery receipts on the p800?
The real point is that if you read the P800 whitepaper there is a note about being able to do the upgrade from home.
SE's obvious gameplan is to get the phone out to consumers, then build on the support / features. I believe in 6 months we will see the home upgrades available - allbeit possibly in a limited capacity.

Cool it !! Its not BS.
Its been talked about for quite a while, and most likely it will be possible. Upgrading software (and e.g. languages), is not "far out",..look at the pc-software for P800, where you have an "install language",..I dont think SE would have put it there, if it wasnt meant to be used ?
And NO,..not all stuff are released at the same time, as the phone hits the streets,..you know that as well as I do.
If this was the case, the phone would never appear, hehe.
At the same time, its Sonyericsson first phone with "real Symbian OS", so some adjustments need to be made, before letting people do this via a website.
