Damnit and I just bought xp too. I hate XP, too much spyware. I think its microsoft spyware too. I'll walk away from my pc for a while, when I come back the screen saver is running but there is like 10 pop ups on top of it. |

Did anyone run this on Win98, it doesn't seems to sense the USB cradle, I tried to do automatic search for Hardware but it didn't sense it, and with manual add hardware option, I installed the supplied 98 USB driver which came with the p800 package but it also doesn't sense the phone when connected, any ideas |

I have to run Windows 98 on my laptop for work and have been waiting for this release.
I installed it last night without the cradle plugged in, restarted my laptop (as requested), plugged the cradle in, restarted again and the cradle was detected.
BUT (and this is a big BUT)... I had tried to install the previous version of PC Suite (1.3.1) onto my laptop just to see if it worked (which as expected didn't) and in the process manually installed the driver for the cradle from the CD supplied with the P800. I'm not sure whether my laptop is using this driver or a new driver installed with the updated PC Suite. To make sure the driver is installed have a look under the device manager, under ports - if it's listed the driver should be working.
Running the software things seemed quite good - I sync'd everything bar my email with Outlook XP without a problem. However I then tried to sync my email (running via Lotus Notes) and things fell apart a little. I had a couple of lockups and a few error messages before it was running well (I am having to sync to my relicated file as I am not always logged into the work server for email causing PC Suite to die).
The only other problem is that PC Suite is taking a lot of resources up - however I was expecting this as I previously had a Nokia 7650 and their version of PC Suite was equally as bad.
Things are running well now - I just need a second cradle and power supply for my laptop to go along side the original cradle and power supply on my home PC. Any idea where I can get a second cradle?
Hope this helps... sorry for the waffle!!

Nokrashy,
You may need to search for new hardware. When you connected it probably detected a USB device, but found no driver.
I used "add new hardware" within control panels.
