This does not exclusively concern T68, but I think it makes sense thanks to the wonderful three-band feature of our babies.

I will be travelling to the US quite soon and I wonder if VoiceScream would still have that prepaid option available for $70 or would it be better to roam whilst there?

Could someone also inform me about other GSM providers (East Coast) and GSM features in the US - the last time I was there (April) VS didn't have SMS or WAP, has anything changed over the past 6-7 months?

Thanks for your advice,

Mood

Alot has changed with VS in the past few months. they have wap and gprs, if you go to their webpage, www.voicestream.com, you can get the settings. however, with prepaid you cannot get access to these extra services. they still do have prepaid.

bottom line i think if you need to be in contact with people at home keep your number the same, otherwise go the VS way

Thanks, Harley, that was very useful.

The problem is, I will be in th US for some 6 weeks and that's too long for roaming and too short for a local number. I guess I'll just have to live without the GPRS and WAP amenities whilst there.

Anyone who has crossed the Atlantic recently and tested out the phone working on the other band?

Cheers,

MSW
