Take a look at page 39-40 on this on the 3GPP section-- which i believe suggests that the P800 is already enabled for 3G?????

3G is not software, it would require major hardware revisions. |

I don't think that p800 is 3G simply because SE didn't advertised it as such (it's a major feature you know ).
Although i must disagree that 3G it couldn't be enabled by software. Imagine that the hardware is there, and the only thing needed to enable 3G is a software capable of dealing with it.

lol what a crap thread.
There is absolutely no way a software revision would make a p800 3g enabled.
Thats probably the most amusing thing I have heard today - not the suggestion of the idea, but the concept that someone thought it was true.

considering that most analysts suggest (look at UK 3 network for evidence) that 3G operators will take a 'walled garded' approach to services, even if the handset did have the hardware it is highly unlikely we would be able to use it.

I think that SE will relese a "p800i" or something like that with 3G within 6 months... probably not built on the same platform but with simmilar look and interface... |

Nope. They don't want to compete with their Z1010. Maybe in a year, a Z800 or something. |

The idea that 3G would work without the hardware is pretty unreal i agree and there is no way i thought that. I was just asking if it would be possible, IF the hardware was already there to enable it via the software. duh. also-- does anyone know for Certain that their are no 3g elements in the phone apart from 3G video support (as it says in the white paper) |
