Try taking the phone to SE service point for a new keypad.

@ronplata, Maybe you were using your phone too much? I always have my phone in a phone case with a plastic front to protect the screen and the keys to slow down wear and tear from extensive use. Especially also if one has sweaty hands. :-)

Well my T68i is over 7 months old and I used it constantly till I got my P800 last week, just had a look at it and there is absolutely no sign of the lettering rubbing off (and I have never had a case on it). The keypad looks as new as the day I got it.

Ronplata, I think your keypad is defective and that you shouldnt have to pay for a new one.

After few months my keyboard is fine excep Yes and No buttons- two days after i bought it (new) lots of paint peeled off in upper edges - between buttons and blue frame around screen. Almost impossible to see in daylight, but very annoying when backlight is on. I wonder if warranty covers this also.

When I first got my t68, I did not keep it in a cover and just chucked it in my pocket with my keys (collective groan) and before it was lost in a park, the paint was starting to peel from the yes/no keys.

That was after about a year - when I then got my t68i I put it in a case and after about the same amount of time I sold my t68i on in perfect condition.

There's no substitute for taking good care of the phone - I found that I could get an entirely clear plastic cover (I prefer those to leather cases) for around £7 which would last me around two to three months before starting to splot.

Certainly much better than a new phone, anyway

I don't like leather myself. I myself prefer phone cases by Cell Suit by Body Glove. I like their neoprene cases with plastic fronts. They're good shock absorbers just in case you drop your phone. ;-)

The keypad may not be under 'guarantee' but it will be under warranty.

If they still dont budge then you can probably get a new keyboard and t6 screwdriver for under $20.

I have used my t68i non-stop for 7 months. It has been in pockets, bags, the car, gone mountain biking.......... Not a single scratch on the keypad.

Regards,

Phil.

Likewise my gold T68 - used a fair amount over the last five months (incl. being stuffed in my pockets - albeit without keys/loose change) and there's no sign of any the keys losing their paint.

It's a bit strange really. Almost all of my friends have phones with missing paint on the keys. Including the t68i and some nokia's. I have never had that problem. Is everyone treating their mobiles like crap or am i veeeryy careful?

What? I thought the paint on keypad wont peel-off like original nokia keypads. I couldnt imagine if the paint will peel-off. using your nails and has sweaty hands were the possibilities why it peel-off
