Anyone downloaded this app (jMSN) and actually got it to work - mine says connecting for ages then closes with a sytem error!!
Its a java app that supposedly connects u to MSN messenger!
Think this app would be a cool extra!

not heard of it, but why not try tipicme for P800 (available from tipic.com), it's an instant messenger app for MSN, Yahoo, AIM etc

Just tryed it on my Mandrake 9.1 linux system and it doesnt work for me either |

work perfectly on my p800 quite cool actually far better than tipicme as this has the smiley faces and diff language support, plus the other user can see when you are typing were as with Tipicme you can get really annoyed with the way the screen moves when you typing and you receive a new message.
I think you should UN-install it then re-install it only this time using the SE Software Installer should work...... |

Try 12Planet IM in stead. It's by far the best MSN client available for the P800.

I tried 12 Planet, however there is no way to tell if someone sent you a IM since there is no visual or audio alert. |

JMSN 1.3 updated was just released on Handango. In this version new function was added include:
- Add save chat session function, now you can save your chat session in Document\Unfiled and read it using Viewer or Synchronized to PC.
- Add zoom function support small/medium/large font
- Add auto-login function, if you remember the password, it will start login when you start the application
- Add select all to select text
- Improve invite function, now using select contact dialog to invite people
- Tab name change follows contact nickname change
- Show contact enter/leave chat session with more than 2 participants
- Improve jogdial support, now you can use jog dial in any dialog, to select contact, emotion, ok, etc.
- Improve focus transfer, the focus are always at the place where you want it to be
- Fix problem with view detail, and other small problems.

Some people may encounter JVM crash on P800 when using our freeware JMSN version 1.0. Actually this is causing by a JVM bug that fail to handle dynamic menu change correctly. In version JMSN v1.2 it was already been bypassed.
Hope you like this software. I and my friend will continue working on it and get more functionality for you. |
