Does anyone actually have one? Or seen one? How much is it? Does it work with all SD slots? Thanks!

@Elgato, 300 Euro??? That's cheap compared to the 1GB USB Flash plugs!!! Those USB Plugs cost about US$700 or so.

And it might not work with all SD slots. Some devices have strictly limited SD support (i.e. siemens SL45i up to 512MB) [addsig]

strictly limited usually means "this-is-the-biggest-you-can-buy-right-now-so-we'll-just-call-it-the-limit"

just means that when they wrote the spec sheet it was the biggest in production...

a 1gig SD would be nice... *drools* but i couldn't justify the expence... a 1gig MSDuo would be even better, don't really want to see the price tag for those though (when available i mean) will surely be depressing

I'm sure if ever Sony will make 1GB Duos, they will cost more than the P800!!!

I think these guys want to bring back the good ol' days when PC RAM was over $20/MB!!!

I know the picture shows a 1GB SD card... but the press release states the ff:

"PMA 2003: SanDisk has today announced SanDisk Extreme(TM), a line of high-performance CompactFlash and SD cards. Extreme CompactFlash have write speed of up to 6MB/sec, and will initially ship in capacities of 256, 512MB and 1 gigabyte, with street prices of $99, $189 and $379 respectively. Extreme SD cards have write speeds of up to 2.5MB/sec, and will be available in 256 and 512MB capacities with a street price $109 and $219 respectively. Both card formats are expected to start shipping in Q2 2003."

So it's the CompactFlash that's 1GB, not the SD. If it's just the CF, then that's kinda old since IBM had their microdrives ages ago.... except that Sansdisk's are Type I, not Type II for IBM

u know that we spoke about the 1GB duos and stuff and we found out that the P800 is limited to 128MB DUOs which i was very anoyed to find out...

after we spoke about that subject on about 20 pages of shouting and fighting over the subject of P800 & a 1GB Duos we finaly left it at
the P800 cant take any duo over 128mb BUT when the 1GB DUOs come out there maybe a firmware update to make it work with the higher DUOs such as the 1GB duo
