I talked to SE service center to a guy I know who is eligible to say something about it and he says that if the performance goes down when you turn it off and on again then it is a defect and it must be brought to the service center.
Software upgrade might do it he says but if not then device must be replaced!
When you see the part only where the battery indicator is turn black when you turn the phone on before the standby screen comes on then it is a software problem and bring it to the service center!
I thought you might want to know!

Does that concern the problem that the battery drops by about 10% everytime the phone is turned off and on again? if so, I'd run to the next shop and exchange that thing... keep having troubles with those e///

I have had quite a few T68 phones that do this, but they don't do it all the time...

What can make this a SW problem?

f**k Ericsson.
ARG.

Thanks for telling me this. As a matter a fact I have this problem.

When I turn the phone on and off, I loose some batterycapacity. VERY much everytime I turn it on and off. And I don't like it.

And yes. When I turn the phone ON, the place where the battery is supposed to be is black or whatever it is. So, this is a software problem? Not a hardware? PLease tell me what to do and give me some more information please.

By the way. What is defect? The battery or the nice phone?

@Ally, I can confirm what you said. The "black battery indicator" was solved by a firmware upgrade to R2B. However, my phone is brand new now, as it was replaced recently.

The batteries performance doesn't actually go down but the meter just reads lower than it should. Sometimes the phone will say that it has 0minutes remaining stanby time for over an hour

Now I'm not going to believe that turning the phone off and then on again drains the battery!

Could it be that the battery meter is refreshed after the restart? I know the most recent Ericssons have a chip in the battery that enables the time lelft calculation, but I'm shure the phone and the battery aren't constantly updating the battery information!

Hi,

I'm using R2B now. I'm not sure but I did have the Batt Indicator Turn Black, not sure if I still have it now. Must Check.

What I'm complaining is this, this morn, My Batt tells me I have 122h standby then I switched off the phone and restarted it. When I did that, It tells me that my battery is Flat! Now that's 122h gone!

Is this a bug?? I'm pissed off. at this.

Where's my New Phone? S/// service promised to replace it when they get the new stock. When's it gonna arrive??

@arnoldc, Are you sure ericsson will replace the whole unit if i'll show them the problem? What service center? I bought it at semicon phils. Should i ask them to replace the unit or can i ask ericsson center in octagon bldg? Or at smartnet?

I see u r interested and have the same problem guys!

SE guy said that some kind of a problem with the software could cause the the phone drain more power han it should! So I will listen to him and bring my phone to the center to upgrade to R2B which is what we have at the moment as the latest and see!

He said that I should specifically state my problem to the service center as it is and they would test the phone accordingly! He also said that I should check it again there after update and if the problem is still there SE would replace my phone!

I hope it helps!
