hey everyone, what programmes out there are best for converting AVI files to MPEG files? the p800 is MPEG 4, but sraying off the topic does anyone know how i can convert avi files to VCD format?

I haven't fully tested it yet, but Nero, the burning program should be able to burn DivX directly to videocd. But VCD can still be big. But via http://www.doom9.org/ you can find converters as well.
I am planning to convert movies as well (Manos, the Hands of fate or Fire Maidens from outer Space for instance  ). One tip, the resolution for VCD is even too high I think. Do you know the resolution size for the P800? If you use that size for converting (but remember to keep the aspect ratio), it'll limit the seize size of the file even more.
Now if there were only a MS of 1 gig available already and a divx player...... | |
