just press 1-9 and # and you will see the phone number in sim card

Well its not just 1 to 9, mine its upto 245!

@Grifter
while in standby mode press a number from 1 - 254 (if using postpaid, depends on sim) 1 - 100 (if using prepaid) and then press #

The SIM's capacity doesn't matter whether you're pre-paid or a post-paid subscriber.
It depends on what type of SIM card you are using.

Most newer SIMS has more storage capacity.

Is there a similar way to quick-call the contacts in your phone book the same way?

Something like assigning quick-call numbers to your phone contacts?

(NOT the shortkeys to search by letter)

With the numbers from 1 to 9 you don't even have to press #...
Just press the number and then YES...

This is really old, but I guess you alle are new Ericsson (ooops ) users. Great function
