SE screw us over on Java Games! |

It looks as if SE are going to shaft P800 owners with regard to Java games and applications.
Currently, the P800 has one of the most limited Java J2ME implementations of any handset maker. It only has the most basic MIDP 1.0 version. We can run hardly any of the cool Java applications that are available for the Nokia, and other phone makers handsets.
The only light at the end of the tunnel is that it would be possible to upgrade the P800 to MIDP 2.0 some time in the future. This would then make the P800 one of the BEST Java handsets out there, if not THE BEST. However, SE do not seem to be planning on doing this upgrade. Instead they are going to put MIDP 2.0 on new handsets, even though the P800 could take the upgrade! (check SE developer forum).
I think SE should commit to doing this for the P800! So we know we are not going to end up with a Java Dodo!

the T610 will come with the same basic version of J2ME that the P800 has, so you had better hope they will offer and upgrade for that too!
