Hi,

I'm new to these forums. I just got a t68m from ebay and apparently the seller doesn't know the phone lock code. I went to a cellular repair store and he's not sure if his friend can't unlock the code...his friend unlocks the phone so it can use any service, but not sure if he can unlock the actual phone code. My question is, is it possible and is it common to unlock the phone code. If this guy can unlock the phone for any gsm service, couldn't he unlock the phone code. Any info will be much apperciated. I will be stuck with a non working phone if this doesn't work. Thanks!

Actually with the right soft both can b done.the service can unlock the service lock and the phone lock at the same time reseting all codes.so technically it is possible and they r doing it here everywhere.but..if he doesnt have the phone lock sw u can always go2a SE service and reset the psw

Thanks for your comment...I'm alittle more relieved. I hope this guy has the software. I guess next time I will not buy a phone from ebay. What exactly is SE service?

Yup basically you are screwed. Sell it on ebay and see if you can screw the next person, although it would not be ethical. Keep sending emails to her, flood her mail box, just a thought.

just send it to a sonyericsson service centre and ask them to unlock the phone lock code as you have forgoten it and they will do this and service it and put latest software on at the same time i had this done with a T29 i bought of ebay and it all cost £15 so in theory you end up with a new phone unlocked new software and cleaned and serviced all in one go.

The SE remote unlocking software can also retrieve the lock code, in addition to the network locks, but you need to pay for that.

This phone sound like it's been stolen to me... A SP might see that on their reccords and you will end up with no phone!

jellyelle have you got anymore good things to input or just crapy comments. Also the phone is locked to a sim card or at least that is what it sounds like to me, as this is what mine was like. Someone who had it before you has changed this code so that if the phone was lost or stolen, then no one can use the phone. I thought that mine was stolen, but after speaking to the person I got it from it turned out they had forgoten the code. I will try and find the link to a web site that lists stolen phones, all you have to do is put in the IMEI number and it will tell you if it is listed in their system.

This may sound sick but ive tried it...if ur really not in a HURRY, try unlocking it by doin all the possible combinations...0000-9999. Iv had this experience with my gfs unit. She owns a t68i as well. We placed bets 4 me to manually unlock it. Took me 2 days! Good thang she set it just to 4878! It wud probably take 4 days 2 input all combinations. My fingers went numb though. Nevertheless, I WON! WATDYA THINK? :-D
