how come i always see a an empty box instead of the animated gif? is there a standard for this kind of thing? like file size limit, frame limit? |

question why does some gifs work and sone dont? i got some from this site but some wont work and leave a while box in a middle and some with an x mark on them. |

i have experienced that only Screensavers that have the right size work (like the ones you can find on esato, enz...)
other onces totally freak if they are viewable on the phone...

I have gifs that are smaller and slightly bigger than T68 screen size on me fone - they load fine - the file frame are limited - it says so in the  white paper - can't remember exactly - The red cross shows because you don't have enough memory left to download said picture, or the file/link is corrupt or an error in ur wap gateway caused the file to download wrong.

aside from insufficient memory the red x also signifies copyrighted material that can't be viewed on the phone. The way around this is to transfer the image using a picture editor like sony's image editor.

@Dr - to my knowledge T68 does not have digital signature recognition to 'bar' content from accessing the handset. The T610 will have this.
Some service providers - like T-mobileUSA - disable save pic menu etc.
If this is the case - you just copy the picture in an art package & send it around/host it for download.

@orangeman had instances where i plucked images from the web which always appeared with the red x when i transferred to the phone but came out okay when i used the image editor. I just assumed that it was due to copyright restrictions. If it isn't that then i don't know what to make of them.
