All you have to do is replace the original battery cover with this new cover, then you can use the normal sized MS. I think it is great because normal MS are just so much cheaper than the Duos, plus they're availible from most stores. Hope there will be one that supports memory stick pro too!! one thing though, when using the normal MS, MS duo cant be used at the same time...

photo also shows a new GPS for P800 too, but i'm not really into that so....

Am I missing something? The pictures don't seem to show the replacement cover using regular MS. But if it's true, then that's a damn good idea.

I definately hope so, knowing that it will only motivate me more to actually buy the P800. Almost bought it yesterday, but I chickened out., since I was afread to spent too much time with it (Tomorrow I got a midterm test ). Now I am going to buy it this Sunday.
Since I already got a MS 128 in my camera, I could use this stick.

Saw the picture. So that about 82Euro's excluding send cost I presume. But it looks like the memory stick cannot be inserted completely?

sorry guys, but it seems its not a cover to support normal ms use! if you look carefully its only a cover to be used as a storage unit for extra duo cards. dont mean to get your hopes up, but thats reality!

This looks more like a memory stick holder?!?!

How does the stick, which must sit ontop of the battery interface with the phone? it's got a battery in the way?

Or is the jacket some sort of blue tooth conection device that tranfers the data via BT?

If it is right, then I'm well chuffed. how much is a 128MB MS?

If you look at http://www.p800er.com/images/MSJacket2.jpg, the big picture, it looks like a normal memory stick? Or do they look-a-like that much, that you only can tell the difference by checking the actual size?

It is an addon that allows you to use a normal MS. Quoted from their website, "The jacket allows you to expand memory on P800 with Sony Memory sticks."

The jacket allows you to expand memory on P800 with Sony Memory sticks.

Simply remove the battery casing to fit the Memory Stick Jacket in

Install software on the memory stick, transfer photographs, storage file and so on.

I think they just left it out there to show it on te pic i can remember seeing a different pic with the whole stick all the way in so no lose ends wich can break

but isn't there talk that the p800 only supports memory sticks up to 128mb? I don't know whether this is true for "real" memorysticks or only for the duos. if thats the case this whole invention would be completely useless since this adapter cost almost as much as a new 128mb memorystick duo.... plus: this case looks pretty big considering the p800 isn't the slimmest of phones.

but thats just my thought on this issue

I totally agree with you jaka... that's why I sprung for the 128MB Duo from P800er.com. If I was gonna spend money anyway, I might as well get the real thing. But yes, it is possible to use that jacket... there should be a flat ribbon cable that wraps around the battery (there is enough space, trust me, I tried it) and connects to the Duo slot under the battery. The Duo slot is exposed when you remove the battery.

well one gig is doubtfull as that's memory stick pro, but nobody seems to be sure about the 256, if it doesn't work with larger ms's then i think it's pretty useless, no need to make your phone fatter. And i also want to know wether it allows for use of memory stick and ms duo...
