I have been playing around for a while and I have come to the conclusion that on my T68i, I get the best performance if I keep about 500KB free.

It is a bit of a pain, as that means I cant keep much in the way of theme ringtone pics on it at any time, but it is much quicker.

I am yet to totally clear out all the pics (including the default pics) and I am sure that when I finish that I will have around 670KB free.

Does everyone else keep their phone this empty?

Sure did, all screwed up, that's mainly why I cleared it out.

Warning, dont let mates borrow your phone.

6 ringing tones

its fast...anyway im not particular with those things that are not really needed

i even played the games so as there are no games left unfinished...regarding the "resume game" option

Ok, so I got it to 658KB free.

Only got 2 pics (i still have to reduce their size) 1 extra theme and maybe 10 or so ringtones.

Much quicker.
----------------

Edit, up to 704KB free.

Free memory usually plays at around 50- 200 kb. Am quite active in sending and receiving MMS and use my MCA25 quite often so i really have to keep a close tab on the memory. Dumping and retrieving pics from my Tungsten or pc as needed. At 0-50 kb left i just note some lag but this has been minimized by r7a upgrade. Keeping the phone as spartan as you do isn't for me since the reason i bought the phone was to enjoy its myriad of features. ;-)

Dont get me wrong, I will be using all the features, such as still changing themes ringtons and such regularly, I also use the MCS 20, it just means that I will not be leaving on the phone once transfered from the cam, I will move them straight to PC.

Just regular spring cleaning I guess.

As for MMS I am yet to enjoy it fully as few of my friends have it yet, I am sure as more people I know get it, that it will be taking up more room.

I had just 40KB left so I decided to get rid of all preinstalled stuff it gave me almost 850KB but all the themes and mms/templates have gone and only few pictures and melodies left. After uploading some themes, pics and imys I've got 540KB and the most important that annoying Orange startup logo is gone :-D

i always limit myself to spare at least 50kB for both my T68i and T300, has tonnes of pics in there,50 personal pics+ 30 default pics, maybe a little less in the T300 coz i got around 6-7 midis in there which takes up much more space than the imelody in T68i, and do not forget the games in the T300(i keep one game only, delete immediately after i finish, and download the next) just one extra theme on each phone which is the one i only uses

I have 324kb free for the moment. I have downloaded 18pics, one screensaver (Mercedes star) and the Jamesbond ice theme, nothing else.
