cheapest i have seen it for in the uk recently is £59.99 but thats with a £70 a month tariff.
if its else where in the world not sure.but i believe you can get them sim free direct from se for £500 english pounds guess that must be about 650 dollars |

If you want to just purchase one (legit), then just stroll down to the Metreon in San Francisco... Was just there and asked about the P800 and they said they have them in stock! They will not let you play with them, NOR do they have them on display!! -- for reasons I just don't understand!!
As of 4/9, they said they had about 8 in stock. No 128MB duo's yet tho.
Price -- $649.99 + 8.5%tax = $705.24
SE online store -- 649.99 + tax + shipping (to California) = $713.68
www.Expansys.us -- $656.45 + shipping (they've been stuck at 3 days for about a week now) = $664.45 Are they trustworthy??? |

I didn't know they sell mobile phones at the Metreon...hmm...interesting. Do you have a phone number for them. I would give them a call before I head down there.

i bought mine in downtown sf through the chinese store in china town i got mine $599 plus tax and contract with t-mobile, cingular or at&t you need a down payment and ready to get in two days just look for the chinese mobile phones

Well I bite the bullet and got my P8 today. The Metreon does have them $705.24 out the door!! (OUCH!)
@SFA - The # there is 415-369-6050 (Sony Style store)
The salespeople there are total A$$holes!! and their return policy is HORRIBLE (ALL SALES ARE FINAL!!) Any problems within 14 days, they will exchange it for you... after that, you have to send it out to SE...
The chic behind the counter (a real Bi*ch) wouldn't even let me open the box until I paid for it!! - Bad business practice, IMHO.
She also said that I was lucky, because the are sending most of the P8's down to LA?? -She wouldn't give me a reason why tho!! BI*CH |

I am surprised to hear Sony at Metreon conducted their business in such a way to piss off their customers. Not allowing one to see the product prior paying in full is bad practice, let alone stupid.
Thanks for the info just the same and I hope you are having fun with your new toy.
I am not sure if I could deal with insensitive salespeople at the Metreon, beside I can take my business where they treat me like a real cusomter, right? |

Actually if you pass the AIBO's booth, there's a spanish girl (I guess) she's really nice, and she has been very helpful, but the manager is hmm well.. I wanna kick his a$$..
when he came to me, the first thing that he asked was.. "Are you gonna purchase it?"
oh ok.. so that's how you treat your customer.. he's really pain in the a$$
and that girl behind the cash register, she's sucks too.. I asked her nicely if I could open the box, she answered me like angry or something. I know because she was counting the money (I paid with cash), but c'mon treat us like the king.. afterall we are the customer.
oh about the cellphone store in china town, make sure you check inside the box before you pay. I went ther before metreon, and at first they gave me $650 without activation, I took a look inside the box, but I didn't really know what the different between new and not was, but now I know.
Just remember there are 2 manuals (English and Spanish) both of them are wrapped real tight, and the cellphone is inside a plastic bag, that if you open it, the seal will be damaged / broken.
The reason why I tell you this, because they told me it was new, at that time I believed them.. but now.. I kinda doubt it, but who knows.. just make sure.. and the strange thing is after they agreed with 650, they called someone and spoke in mandarin, later they told me they would sell it for 699, becaue of some weird activation reason.
Maybe they know that I was so desperate or something.. so I decided to try my luck at Metreon.
oh bye the way, based on the info that this girl gave me (IT'S NOT CONFIRMED YET!!!) nextel in Nordstorm SFO (Downtown) also has it, and RadioShack also has it, but I don't know if it's true or not.

it was a new one from chinatwon i got kmine since february. it was in the box with a seal. and they open it with me seing it to put the new sim card. As of now they got a stock i got a manual in german its useless
