Ericsson provided the gadgets in the first movie, two years ago. Any news on whether SE will reprise that role in the second film, Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life, due out in July??? |

Ericsson had more exposure in Tomb Raider than in Die Another Day. |

was terrible in Die Another Day, I hope they didn't pay much :-/
A blink and you miss it p800 camera shot and the use of a t68i as a detonater, gee wizz wow
They were much better in (IIRC) The World Is Not Enough, that nice groovy open up smartphone driving the car.
Sure Ericsson got more action in Tomb Raider, pity it was a crap film and not the best phone I've ever seen.

Yup i agree that Ericsson got more exposure in Tomb Raider rather than Die Another Day. Although you can barely see the R320s when she is driving the jeep. But the marketing push in Die Another Day was huge compared to Tomb raider and everybody was aware of Sony Ericsson sponsoring the film. I think it helped keep sales of the T68i high although the product was ageing.
So from what i gather nobody has anything official about any SE products featuring in the film... |

The thing with sponsorship deals is that they are made to be transient - it doesn't really matter who James Bond uses to make calls and if Lara Croft phones home using a landline phone it's not going to ruin the film.
As such in most cases it tends to be hard to get a pre-emptive marketing statement from anyone...except of course Samsung, who are flaunting their Matrix 2 phone for all its worth.

PS Has anyone else seen the pics of that phone on Mobileburn? I had the 7110 because it looked cool but the Samsung looks DIRE :-/

I think the a2618,r380 and d hbh10 were the featured ericsson units and not the r320.
Movies are a great push and marketing tool for these mobile giants to boost sales and SE is very good with it:james bond franchise. And samsung is doing it with matrix2 and we dont know next.what a radical phone!it beats the living daylights out of siemens xelibre,sx1 when it comes to design!

even before die another day, pierce brosnan already used an ericsson phone, i think it loolked like a nokia 9210 it had a finger pad where he used to remotely control his bmw, i couldn remember which bond flick it was but it was definately brosnan. |

@crowing, I think that was a 9210 that he used in that movie. Can't remember the title, though.
