Guys, is there anyway that magnets in cellphone pouches can in some way or another, damage a cellphone's color display??? I mean look what happen when you hold a magnet near a PC screen. |

Hmmm,
the effect on monitors is due to the light rays 'bending' out of place - due to the external magnet. It doesn't actually damage the monitor, and sometimes electrical charge can build up and cause a similar problem... that's what the degauss option is for - get rid of the buildup.
Anyway, why are there magnets in cellphone cases? are they the ones that hold the case 'shut'?? In that case, they are only weak magnets and shouldn't have any effect. |

The magnet phenomenon is only valid for CRT (Tube) screens and not LCD.
When all cell phones used Ni-Mh batteries you could use a strong magnet as a holder, but that does not work on the new Li-ion, Li-Polymer batteries.

There's a pink area on the top of my TV screen. I have to keep a magnet taped onto my TV to get rid of the pink. Very annoying!
