I've noticed a number of posts on this and other boards about PC Suite 1.3.1 install problems. It seems some users (including myself) get the message "Another program has been installed/uninstalled since the last reboot. Reboot your computer to complete the previous installation/uninstallation before running this setup."
Rebooting and uninstalling the previous version of PC Suite does not fix the problem, and so far SE Support have ignored my requests for help. Has anybody found a way to overcome this problem yet?

Where do you get this problem? I installed the upgrade and use the software without problems.

I, too, still have the problem. I've tried everything I can think of to get 1.3.1 to install on my Win2000 machine. I closed all processes except those essential to Win2000 and still no-go.

For those of you who "don't" have the problem - have you tried to RESTORE a backup?
That's where most of the problems lie - the backups won't restore.
You lose the data!

I did successfully restore a backup from 1.1.1 (on 2nd attempt) however since reading about the problems some users experience, I am reluctant to try it again unless absolutely necessary!
Still can't install 1.3.1 on Win2000 Pro under any circumstances! SE - are you guys looking into this? |

The problem also occured with me on my Windows XP Pro system. Cannot install 1.3.1 over 1.1.1, and even clean install (uninstalled 1.1.1) won't work. Have tried RegCleaner 4.3 to clean all my registry, still can't install. RegCleaner also zap many important keys (linked to Norton Systemworks 2003) that I need to restore my registry to get my system back to work.

You should be able to restore whatever RegCleaner removed by clicking the "Backup" button, selecting the last entry in the list, and then clicking "Restore backup". |

Does anyone know where I can download the english version of 1.3.1? I can only find the German version on the sony ericsson site, and even that comes from an off site link.

Question... I downloaded 1.3.1 uk english version and installed with out any "apparent" problems. But how do I check that it is actually installed? ie version number somewhere or such like |

If you check Add/Remove Programs it should say PCSuite followed by the version number. |

I am one of those people who "don't" have the problem.
I also haven't had any problems with restoring backups using the new version of the software.

What Windows operating system are you using? Did you uninstall older version of PC suite before installing latest one? |
