Bluetooth is your friend,
IR is your enemy.
Keep your friend close (about 10 meters)
and your enemies closer (about 20cm and in direct line of sight.)

hah hah hah...no need to confuse him anymore rmg!
Ir is for transfering data/playing mulitple users for games, etc. between Ir enabled mobile to mobile or mobile to other Ir enabled electronics at a short and i mean short range.
BT is the same, but up to 20m connectivity! a lot better!

nice Question never anserd one like this before well
IR is infra red signals (your infra red port is on the left hand side next to the power butten) it moves the same as lght in straigt lines and like normal light it cant go through walls. so both devices must be together in direct line of sight (both there infra red ports must be faceing each other) and with 1M
BLUETOOTH, instead of useing light like Infra red, it uses radio waves much the same as your microwave does (but very low radiation and it wont hurt you) anyway because it uses radio waves u dont need to be in the same line of sight like infra red, and even better the P800 has short range bluetooth which is limeted to 10M ok. and u can have the devices between walls or glass or anything with bluetooth thats why it is better then Infra red.
