does anyone else have this problem? sometimes, when i am using jot, the black line corresponding to what i'm writing shoots to the edge of the screen, either the bottom or the side. this obviously gets me a different character, usually "&". also, even when using the physical flip, sometimes when i press "1" i will get a "*". any suggestions? i have recalibrated the touchscreen, but that is obviously not the fix. am i alone? do i have a dud p800? too bad SE in the US doesnt support the p800...

It sometimes happens to me if I haven't calibrated the screen for a while, and Im using it on angle (lying in bed or something). Is it happening when its been calibrated and flat?

ya, its happenning when its calibrated and flat, but it seems to happen more often when less pressure is applied with the stylus. also, i am not using any screen protection, so thats not interfering either.

WHEW!!! I thought I was the only one that had this problem!

Ya, I get that 'stylus jump' as well.

It's annoying... some days it doesn't happen at all..other times, 4 in a row!!!

Oh well... I'm hoping it's a SW bug.

Just for the record, although it seldom happens to me .... but...IT DOES HAPPEN...... not really irked about it, it used to happen on my trusty old R380..... then again it was not that frequent....

Hmm I have an intriguing problem with my screen. It appears there is a dust particle fixed to the inside of the touchscreen, and when the backlight is on it is illuminated in bright white. Very annoying... gonna see if i can exchange my phone for a new one.

do you guys have to send your phone to Minnesota and pay shipping, then wait for them to send it back, like thay told me, or are they sending you the rplacement first? if they are, I'd like to know who you are talking to over there. they are being very difficult with me...

who did you deal with to get a new phone?

because this is what they write me:

Please refer to the place of purchase regarding the new unit request. Unfortunately, that option is not available to us. If you are experiencing any problems with the phone, we do have a 1 year manufacturer's warranty which covers the workmanship on all of our products. Unfortunately, we do not have a local service center that I could refer you to. Through our service center, the unit would need to be sent in for repair. Please contact the Sony Ericsson Contact Center at 1-800-374-2776 ; press 1 for English then 1 for Customer Service and Technical Support to speak with one of our representatives directly with regards to the case reference number and service center information.
