Hmmm i found a place that will insure my P800 for $5/mo and $35 to fix the phone if it ever breaks. Is that a good deal or should i keep searching? Looks like no1 well insure the P800's screen (scratches or cracks) but rather only if the phone is completly broken....so i guess lol if i really wanted to i could "accidently" drop it off ohh i dunno a 3 story buliding onto the street and then pay $35 for a new phone when all i wanted was a new touch screen

You make it sound like you're going to want to get a replacement everytime you get a scratch!
What network are you on? Orange have a really good 'care' service. £5 a month (reduces every year and is free for the first year every time you start a contract) free 24 hour replacement if you have a faulty phone. Can't go wrong with that.
Why don't you get a screen protector too? |

Orange case used to be free, but not anymore
I think some of the more expensive contracts may include it, but the sub £40 ones certainly dont.
Try www.cusc.co.uk for phone insurance, £3.45 a month or £39.95 a year and that covers everything including accidental damage!
Also be careful if you try and get a new phone on your insurance for something silly like screen scatches, when you trade in your old mobile those get refurbished and used as replacements...... same goes for repaired phones. Chances are if you claimed for a P800 though, it would be a new one due to them not being out long. |

those insurance plans seem way cheap compared to what i had to pay with premiere plan! they charged 3months of £20 per month up front with the p800. all in all it was £280 for the phone on an upgrade...but i've been told that an excess of £100 is payable for any claim considering the phone is new! the conselation is knowing that i'll get a brand new boxed phone if anything goes wrong! expensive huh!?!? |

I've paid £180 for 4 years cover on my P800. This covers me for every instance, including theft. I got it from the Link when I purchased my phone sim free at a whopping £499. |

I tried to insure with CUSC, camera phones are £49.99. But when I enquired they said that they could not insure the P800 with the mobile phone insurance due to the high risk and cost of phone and that I'd have to insure it under their PDA insurance which would be £71.88.
Needless to say, I said no to them.
I've got it insured now with Mcover, www.mcover.co.uk
They cover it for £51.48 for a years cover or £4.29 per month on Direct Debit.
Here's their policy taken from their website.
POLICY BENEFITS
>Theft Insurance.
>Accidental and malicious damage insurance.
>Break down cover.
>Unauthorised call protection up to £250 (contract phone only)
>Personal Injury cover if you are injured when your phone is stolen up to £500, including 90 days a year world wide cover.
>Covered while in possession of immediate family.
>Up to 30 days a year world-wide cover.
ADDITIONAL BENEFITS
>A years subscription to the Mobile Phone Ownership Registration and Assistance Service operated by The Mobile Equipment National Database (M-E-N-D). This system is used extensively by the Police and other major organisations to trace owners of recovered phones in the UK.
Further information can be found at www.m-e-n-d.com

Seemed a better policy to me.
