What is up with that?
A guy at work just got one, and had to get a data cable for it.
It is obviously aimed at people who are intending to use it with their PC as it has Java, but it doesnt support any wireless tranfer of data. I think this is a huge lack of attention.
PS. I am not a Nokia hater, just thought it was crazy not to have it on this phone seeing as just about all previous models have it. |

I heard that even you get a data cable, you won't be able to upload backgrounds and stuffs to the 3530........cos the phone simply has no connectivity !!! The only way to get these is download from wap......kind of dumb and crap !!!

No its not, being an entry level "Expression" phone the point is with 3530 that you buy your Java stuff from your operator. It also reduces the price when theres no BT or IrDA. |

Flying Finn said it best, as this is a entry level colour screen phone and we all know Nokia entry level is just that "entry level" i.e. the bear basics unlike the SE T300 which is also colour screen entry level but with alot more connectivity options, Even if your mate gets a cable it won't work the 3510i or in your friends case the 3530 doesn't support any pc connectivity the only way to get apps, pics or ringtones on it is wap or mms.
That's Nokia for you. |

8210 is by no standards entry level especially when it was first released it was aimed at the same market that the 8310 was aimed at and as far as I know 3310 doesn't have infra red and that is a typical entry level nokia phone. |

well..u get what u paid for
and it's a good basic phone for one who just wans to make calls and simplybe satisfied with colour screen
still good effort for the price given maybe even considered better than the Panasonic GD68 and Motorola C350, E360 |

Well here is Aus 8210 was entry level, just let me check what you mean by entry level, it was free with all plans when it was first released and I cant recall another phone from that 8*** series with less features.
I guess I was wrong about the 8310, dunno what I was thinking there. |

The Expression category people are usually teenagers, would they have a pc with an IR port anyway? You get your wallpapers, Java apps and ringtones from WAP. Nokia had the operators in mind when they did this.
8210 was the smallest and lightest Nokia phone at its time, and only 7110 and the communicators had more features back then, which is why it cost about 540 euro when it was released in Finland in late 1999.
8210 also took the 8xxx series (PREMIUM) to where it is now, 8xxx used to have much less to offer before (8110, 8810). It became a small fashion phone category (8850, 8310, 8910, 8910i). Then they renewed the system a bit and titled the 7XXX Fashion and 8xxx seems to be for the likes of 8910 now. |
