can someone give me some detailed instructions on how to install this program so i can control winamp? i've searched the but nothing really came up.
i downloaded and installed: fma.09.08 and float media control and i installed microsoft script control.
i downloaded both:
CarpeDi3m1687.v10.vbscript
winamp.vbscript
was i suppose to put the file: WinampCOMLib.dll somewhere?
cause when i run the program it pops up an error related to that file...i'm running winamp3.
any help is appreciated, thank you. |

step 1...
unzip MobileAgent.exe and winamp.vbscript to any folder (preferably empty)
step 2...
download this...
unzip floAtMediaCtrl.exe into any folder...
step 3...
download and install this file if you are not running win2000/xp
step 4...
run MobileAgent.exe, select tools>options...>script and click browse
locate winamp.vbscript and click open
step 5...
go to the connection tab and select your mode of connection...
note that native bluetooth is kinda buggy so i suggest you use the 'serial port' option instead
if you use infrared on win98, select serial port 4
step 6...
click ok and close the program
step 7...
run MobileAgent.exe and press 'f7'
done!
if everything goes well, your phone info, battery status and tempreature should appear.
now on your phone, go to menu>connect>accessories>FMA
winamp control should be visible and the rest, i leave it up to you to discover

Thanks ShawO,
i installed everything correctly, but when whenever i adjust the volume in Volume Control -> Master Volume, it mutes the the comp and i can't unmute it using the phone.
I also encoutered problems with winamp, i could launch, but do nothing else. i can't stop/pause..etc.
just one final question, does all bluetooth devices go through walls? or is it the high end ones do?
thank you...btw i've looked through the fma thread before, but i couldn't find anything. |

i think you got yourself the old winamp script...
it didn't work cos the script looks for a program with the title 'winamp' but winamp displays the song name on the title bar instead.
put the WinampCOMLib.dll into somefolder
run this command
regsvr32 c:\[foldername]\WinampCOMLib.dll
then change the script file in options>script to this one...
CarpeDi3m1687.v10.vbscript
sorry i cant help you on the volume control bug
i think you should page through the fma thread cos i remember it has been discussed before |
