Is it possible to transfer away from an Orange contract (having been with them for 14 months) to another networks pay as you go service and then transfer back to Orange as soon as possibile in order to take advantage of the low prices available to people signing new contracts?

It's a bit of a hassle but would save me a couple of hundred quid and allow me to keep my current number....

People who do this always use Virgin - i suggest you do the same, other providers may hang around before getting you the PAC, or even not do it at all - apparently Virgin allow you to connect and practically the same day request a PAC, then get it to you within 5 days.

This is a really good idea!

Would you let me know how it goes etc. and how long it takes. I doubt this will work for me as I have 2 lines and I'd be hard pressed to try and save both of the numbers!

But what the heck the damn P800 doesn't even allow you to use your second line anyway.
