I've got R1B and simply want the call quality sorted out. It's fine in the office, but as soon as outside or in a noisy location, everyone says they can't hear me. They say the sound distorts and ask me to talk more quietly, which sometimes helps a bit, but they still say it's pretty poor.
Just hoping the upgrade sorts it out. | |

yeah I would have to say that the calling quality of these phones can only be described as sh*t!!!!!!
The microphones are set to loud so a distorted sound is sent to the person you are speaking to and the earphone speaker is far too weak for a phone - it distorts too easily!!!!
With my old nokia I used to record songs to my answering machine when I was at clubs so I could take it to my record shop and find out what the tune was, and that suffered quite badly from bassy tracks but I'd hate to see the results when using a t68!

As far as speech distortion, get at least R2x firmware. The difference between R1B and R2A, is a BIG difference in voice quality. I always got people telling me to quiet down with R1x, and now, with R2A even, no one has mentioned it since I got it a long time ago.
The new R1A MMS firmware can only improve on that.
