Even if it IS released after the conference, it has to be DOWNLOADED from the server, all of them will want to do it at once and so there will probably be a 'server busy' reply... it will take time and then all of the crazy t68 owners will be blocking the doors of the service centers and they'll probably give you the wrong software cos of it being so busy 
Just relax! Let those few people do their thing and by the end of this week we'll hear what some people have to say about it, maybe they'll do something you don't like and then you'll all be complaining... 
I say we let the foolish update FIRST and then see what happens
