From Palm to Cell..HOW can it be done? |

So i just got a sony clie palm and i have a sony ericcson fone, naturaly u;d think this would be a piece of cake to beam files from either or but i jsut cant seem to find a way to beem my ringtones or themes from my palm to my t300, does anybody know if there is such a way ?!

Just because a company makes two products doesn't mean that they were built for each other in mind. Basically your Palm needs some sw to bridge the gap.
check out www.handango.com and www.palmgear.com for some sw that will suite your needs.

my dad brought home this funny PDA type thing one day that workmen use on the street. it used Pocket PC and had infared. i just selected a picture and beamed it over... no problem.

see thet hign with exbox is, is that it doesnt let you beam from your memory card. now for some reason the sony clie doesnt let you save anything on its own hard drive unless its an application, so you are forced to save on a memory card... then with other beam software that i have tried... when i try to beam from the memory card it makes it a difernt type of file. like with one.. i tried beaming it to my t300 , a theme file, and it gave it some sort of .pbc extension... and so i got an error sayin it couldnt get connected by infrared... the only reason why i know this happened was because the program converted it into sum sort of different file.. so the challenge is finding a palm beam softawre that beam files from an external memory card and that will not rename a file..... sigh
we can walk on the moon yet we cant do thsi simple arbritrary task~

I see. If you have a Clie and a memory stick, put the Clie on the cradle then run MSImport on the Clie and the memory stick will be shown as a removable drive. Make a new folder \T68i and copy all your *thm, *.gif, *.imy, *.emy, *.tpl files there. When its done, disconnect then fire up IR on the phone and run Filez (or whatever file manager you have) and look for the \T68i folder, select all, then beam. You now have all themes, wallpapers, screensaver, ringtones, and even MMS templates on your phone.
This is how I do it and it works perfectly. Hope this helps. |

...run filez? what is that or what do you mean..u lost me there sorry..... see the thing is i thoguth i could do that easil. jsut beam files from my memory card with the beam software in my clie but i cant seem to do that...? hmmm |

oh wow oh wow..... ABE214 , thank you thank you i figured it out finally. yeha i got the program Filez....i figured it was jsut that.. ap rogram..and well it beams form the memory card without adding any weird extensions and what not. Thank you very much is there anything i coudl do to repay you? make ya a theme or sumthin? i liek makin themes mostlyanime ones but i can do u one of whatever at your request.... i also do screensavers.... the lil animated gifs. ok anyways thanks alot again i can finally sleep haha nite nite~ |

ok hey again abe.....sigh... well ok i think i might have spoken to soon ... um well ok so beaming themes seems to work fine.. but how do you go about beaming midi ringtones or screensavers .gifs? its not lettign me... it kinda either freezes up or it turns them into .flz files... sigh... i need yer help and guidance once again ... |
