nothing special about it... WAV files are big... ~1MB/min for MP3 (depending on the quality) and ~10MB/min for WAV files... lower the bitrate and the size will go down (but this will lower the quality as well) |

Nero, can u use that..?
In that case i will try it, but iv'e recognized something, i forgot the settings, i turned them down to 44.1 khz, 8 bit stereo.
Then the file was 21, so i can experiment with this for a while, but thanks for your help..! |

Errrrm, what were you expecting? A smaller file?!?! Dream on, a wav file is approximately 10 times larger than an mp3, under normal sample rates (128kbps, 44kHz etc). If you want smaller than an mp3, you convert to either a smaller mp3, an mp3pro, on oggvorbis track, or even a midi - not a WAV!!!

Are you surprised when you unpack a .zip or .RAR-file and find it bigger too?

hello
what you should do is something else
u must DOWNGRADE the mp3 file
i.e:
mp3 was encoded in 128 kbits or 192 kbits (4 MEGS)
by using the program
mp3PROAudioPlayer_v1_1_0
u can downgrade the .mp3 file to
something like 64 kbits which will
still give you an excellent sound and SIZE
as well (2 MEGS)
hope that helped !

one reason mp3 are smaller is because there like wav files just zippet when any mp3 player plays a mp3 it decompresses 1 second of the song at the point its playing (ie the song starts it decompresses 1 second gets past that second and puts the first second back the way it was and does the same thing to the next second)
why was u even converting a mp3 to wave anyways the P800 has a mp3 player??? (unless u was gonna use it for ringtone which i understand) |
