GPRS in the Philippines? |

Hello
I am from Finland, the land of Nokia, but I never own one
I am going to have holyday in Philippines after 2 weeks and going to stay there about 5 weeks.
I am using P800 via bluetooth to my laptop.
Now looking for the easiest and cheapest way to connect to Internet in Philippines.
Best way might be that I bought SIM from some of the operators there.
Any idea whit’s operator is the cheapest?
Is it charge/Mt or time or what?
Is there pre paid SIM cards for GPRS?
I will stay in Cainta Rizal.
Thanks!

@realbay
the easiest and cheapest way of getting to the internet is using a landline and a prepaid internet service.
am not sure how you define "cheap", but mobile internet service is 0.50 per Kilobyte (1 USD = 54 PHP) while you can get unlimited dial-up internet service for around 700 PHP per month. There are prepaid SIM cards available with GPRS access. Same rates of 0.50 PHP per KB applies.
If you got any questions about the philippines, please feel free to post at the Filipino thread.
(PS. if you got the time, you might even get the chance to meet some of the Pinoy esato forum users when a meet-up (or EB) is scheduled during your stay here ) |
